Nationals 13, Braves 12
Dan Uggla hit a towering three-run homer in the ninth inning against
his former team to give the Nationals a dramatic 13-12 win over the
Atlanta Braves, ending Washington's six-game losing streak.
The Nationals, who trailed 9-1 after two innings and 10-2 after
four, completed their biggest comeback win in nearly 12 years.

Blue Jays 11, Red Sox 8
Toronto overcame an early four-run deficit, stroked 17 hits and
topped Boston 11-8 at Fenway Park.
After falling behind 4-0 after two innings, the Jays knocked Clay
Buchholz out with a five-run third and never trailed.
Jose Bautista drove in three runs, one with his fifth homer of the
season. Josh Donaldson had three hits, including a solo homer, and
two RBIs.

Reds 4, Brewers 2
Brandon Phillips hit a two-run homer and Johnny Cueto pitched eight
solid innings, lifting Cincinnati to a 4-2 victory over Milwaukee.
Cincinnati homered three times off Brewers starter Kyle Lohse (1-4),
including solo shots by Joey Votto and Marlon Byrd.

Twins 3, Tigers 2
Minnesota right-hander Mike Pelfrey allowed two runs on three hits
in seven strong innings of work as the Twins won 3-2 against Detroit
at Target Field.
Pelfrey improved to 2-0 in four starts this season and lowered his
ERA to 2.25 in the process.

Cubs 6, Pirates 2
Left-hander Travis Wood allowed just two runs in seven innings, and
received early offensive support from his Chicago teammates in a 6-2
victory over Pittsburgh at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs won their third straight and second in a row over the
Pirates in a three-game series which concludes on Wednesday.

Mariners 2, Rangers 1
Seattle starting pitcher J.A. Happ turned in his most dominating
performance of the season and designated hitter Nelson Cruz
continued to torture his former club in the Mariners' 2-1 victory
over Texas.
Seattle (9-11) also clinched the series win with the finale of the
three-game set coming on Wednesday at Globe Life Park.

Royals 11, Indians 5
Kendrys Morales' three-run home run capped a six-run seventh-inning
rally that lifted Kansas City past Cleveland 11-6.
Alex Gordon also homered for the Royals, who battered five Cleveland
pitchers for 18 hits. The reeling Indians lost their fourth in a row
and fell for the 12th time in 16 games. Their record fell to 6-13,
the worst in the American League.

Marlins 4, Mets 3
Michael Morse snapped an eighth-inning tie with an RBI single as
Miami defeated New York 4-3. The Marlins beat the NL East-leading
Mets for the first time in six meetings this season.
Mets reliever Carlos Torres (1-1) helped Miami by walking two
batters in the eighth. Morse then lined a one-out single to center
for his first RBI in eight games.

Yankees 4, Rays 2
Brian McCann drove in three runs and Chase Whitley pitched five
innings as New York held on for a 4-2 victory over Tampa Bay.
McCann drove in New York's final three runs by doubling in first
baseman Mark Teixeira in the first inning against Jake Odorizzi
(2-2) and adding a two-run double with two outs in the fifth.

Cardinals 11, Phillies 5
Every St Louis starter either drove in a run or scored one as the
Cards outscored the Philadelphia Phillies 11-5 at Busch Stadium.
First baseman Matt Adams led the 15-hit onslaught, going 3-for-4
with two RBI. Left fielder Matt Holliday also banged out three hits
and drove in a run.

Astros 14, Padres 3
The Houston Astros slugged three home runs for the second
consecutive night, and they beat the San Diego Padres 14-3 at Petco
Park.
Houston got home runs from left fielder Evan Gattis, right fielder
George Springer and first baseman Chris Carter while winning its
fifth straight. Springer tied his career high with five RBIs.

Giants 2, Dodgers 1
Madison Bumgarner conceded just five hits in eight innings and
catcher Buster Posey drove in two runs to give the San Francisco
Giants a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
Bumgarner (2-1) also amassed a season-high nine strikeouts while
permitting only one walk and one run in out-pitching left-hander
Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers' ace.

Diamondbacks 12, Rockies 5
Arizona right fielder Mark Trumbo collected four hits and four RBIs
to help the Diamondbacks overcome an injury to starter Archie
Bradley in a 12-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field.
Bradley, a rookie right-hander, was struck in the face by a line
drive off the bat of Rockies right fielder Carlos Gonzalez and taken
to hospital for further testing.

Athletics 6, Angels 2
Third baseman Brett Lawrie hit a three-run homer and right-fielder
Josh Reddick added a solo shot as the Oakland A's ended their
four-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory against the Los Angeles
