Beau Collier, who was 2-3 on the afternoon, batted in the Toppers
first run in the first inning following a ball hit by Michael Lowery
that was misplayed by the centerfielder and allowed Lowery to go all
the way to third.
The Toppers got two more runs in the bottom of the second inning as
Stags pitcher Clay Olson issued two walks and then an error by the
Stags defense led to a run. An RBI double by Lowery put the Toppers
up 3-0.
The Toppers broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning,
scoring seven runs on base hits by Caleb Przykopanski, Eli
Griesheim, Huff and Beau Collier. Olson also hit a batter and issued
a couple more walks in the inning before exiting with the score 10-0
in favor of the Toppers.
Blake Collier gave up an inside-the-park home run to Wyatt Conrady
in the fifth inning, which put the Stags on the board. But in the
bottom half of the inning, Blake Collier would get that run back for
the Toppers. Blake Collier singled, stole second and reached third
on Huff's hit, meanwhile with Lowery at the plate, the first pitch
was a wild pitch and Blake Collier trotted home to score the final
run the Toppers needed to make this a quick game.
