							Barbara F. Beaver of Lincoln, went to be with the 
							Lord on April 24, 2015.  
							 
							A Memorial Service will be held at Jefferson Street 
							Christian Church on Wednesday, April 29, at11:30 
							a.m. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been 
							entrusted with her care.  
							 
							In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to 
							House of Faith, 321 Montecito Dr., San Angelo, TX 
							76903; Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Drive, 
							Knoxville, TN 37998; or Safe Haven Hospice , 200 N. 
							Postville Dr., Lincoln, IL 62656. 
							 
							Barbara was born March 23, 1931, to Luke and Jesse 
							Feathers of Johnson City, TN. She attended Johnson 
							University where she met Cecil R. Beaver, who became 
							her husband on November 18, 1950. Barbara and Cecil 
							lived in locations where Cecil served as Pastor: 
							Duncanville, TX for 3 years; Palestine, TX for 7 
							years; and Dalhart, TX for 45 years. Barbara and 
							Cecil moved to Lincoln in 2006. Barbara enhanced the 
							lives of her friends throughout her life, freely 
							sharing her talents and spiritual gifts as a 
							pianist, organist, teacher, comforter, and 
							encourager.  
							 
							In 1967, Barbara continued her college education by 
							commuting to Kansas State University where she 
							graduated as valedictorian with a Bachelor’s in 
							English, and to Fort Hays State University where she 
							graduated summa cum laude with a Master’s of 
							English.  
							 
							Barbara taught public school for 23 years: 9 years 
							teaching middle and high school English at Boys 
							Ranch near Dalhart, TX, and 14 years teaching Junior 
							and Senior Honors English at Dalhart High School. 
							She also taught a few college-level courses, and was 
							an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Barbara was a 
							rigorous and engaging teacher who was greatly 
							esteemed and loved by her students.   | 
							
							 
  
							Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 
							years, Cecil Beaver, her elder son, James Beaver, 
							and her brother Bobby Feathers. 
							 
							She is survived by her children, Susan Skidmore (Ed) 
							of San Antonio, TX; Bob Beaver (Rachel) of San 
							Angelo, TX; and Miriam Windham (Neal) of Lincoln; 
							nine grandchildren: Kaysha Simpson (Chris) of 
							Lincoln, Kimberly Condit (P.J.) of Round Rock, TX; 
							Joshua Beaver of Corydon, IN; Zoe Reilly (Devin) of 
							Louisville, KY; Joanna Beaver of Palmyra, IN; Amy 
							Beth Beaver of Kingsburg, CA; Benjamin Beaver (Mary) 
							of San Angelo, TX; Luke Windham (Sarah) of Dwight, 
							Charis Gordon (Joe) of Milwaukee, WI; also by eleven 
							great grandchildren. 
							 
							Barbara’s life verse was Psalm 51:10, “Create in me 
							a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit 
							within me.” All who knew her will testify that God 
							abundantly answered that prayer during every season 
							of Barbara Beaver’s life.
