							Ruby G. Cross, 86, of Emden passed away at 2:30 a.m. 
							April 29, 2015 at Christian Village, Lincoln. 
							 
							Ruby was born May 7, 1928 at home in Emden, the 
							daughter of George and Tasie Fink Klokkenga. She 
							married James Russell Cross on September 3, 1950. He 
							preceded her in death on December 22, 2013. 
							 
							She is survived by three children: Greg (Barb) Cross 
							of San Jose, Joyce (Larry “Moe”) Westen, and Jay 
							(Christy) Cross of Emden; nine grandchildren: Jim, 
							Jennifer, Jean Ann, Joni, Andy, Shane, JoEllen, 
							Andrea, and Adam; six great grandchildren: Kyle, 
							Logan, Dean, Adysin, Madi, and Anna. Her sister, 
							Etta Short, Emden also survives. She was preceded in 
							death by her parents and her sister Mary Ann 
							Broughton. 
							 
							Ruby attended Fairview School and graduated from 
							Hartsburg-Emden High School. She worked briefly at 
							the Garment Factory in Lincoln before her marriage. 
							She was a full time homemaker. She was a member of 
							St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden and was also a 
							member of the Good Samaritan Circle.  | 
							
							 
                    
					  
							Ruby enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She 
							loved to bake cookies and make jams and jellies for 
							her grandchildren to enjoy.  
							 
							Services for Ruby will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 
							4, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Emden with 
							Rev. John Schurter and Ryan Edgecombe officiating. 
							Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, 
							Hartsburg. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 
							a.m. Monday prior to service at the Church. 
							Memorials can be made in her memory to Lincoln 
							Christian Nursing Home, Safe Haven Hospice, or St. 
							Peter Lutheran Church. Arrangements were entrusted 
							to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
