							Obituary 
							 
							Steven Allen Anderson, 63, passed away at 8:20 a.m. 
							at his home on July 24, 2015. 
							 
							Steve was born on August 8, 1951 in Springfield, IL; 
							son of James L. and Edith VanFossan Anderson. He was 
							united in Marriage to Renay Drake on June 2, 2011 in 
							North Carolina. She survives him. 
							 
							Also surviving are his daughters: Natalie Sparks of 
							Lincoln, and Nicole (Nathan) Reinhart of Emden; step 
							children: Tieriny (Kary) Klockenga of Lincoln, 
							Justin Robbins of Lincoln, and Evan Connor of 
							Elkhart, four grandchildren and four step 
							grandchildren; one brother, Stanley (Angela) 
							Anderson of Elkhart. Steve was preceded in death by 
							his parents. 
							 
							Steve was of the Christian faith and a lifelong 
							member of Elkhart Christian Church, he graduated 
							from Elkhart High School in 1969, He was in the U. 
							S. Army from 1971-1972, he retired from the Illinois 
							Department of Transportation, he was the mayor of 
							Elkhart from 2004-2012, and Steve was the commanding 
							officer of Elkhart American Legion Post # 616. 
							Steve’s hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and 
							gardening.  | 
							
							 
                    
					  
							Services for Steve will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 
							30, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in 
							Mount Pulaski with Stacy Popejoy officiating. 
							Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 
							29, 2015 also at the funeral home. Burial at Camp 
							Butler National Cemetery will follow the service 
							where full military rites will be accorded. 
							Memorials may be made to The Vietnam War Memorial.
