The move is retroactive to July 30, one day after inflammation in
Porcello's triceps developed following his last start Wednesday.
Porcello allowed 10 hits and six runs (five earned) in two-plus
innings and was booed by the sellout Fenway Park crowd.
He signed a four-year, $82.5 million extension with the Red Sox in
April, but the 26-year-old is just 5-11 with a 5.81 ERA in 20 starts
this season.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza Jr is headed back to the
disabled list after X-rays revealed that he suffered a fractured
left hand in Saturday's game.
Souza left Saturday's 11-7 loss against the Boston Red Sox after
getting hit on his left hand by a pitch from starter Joe Kelly in
the top of the fifth inning. He remained in the game until the top
of the sixth.
Souza, 26, was on the DL last month with a finger injury. He is
batting .214 with a team-leading 15 home runs, 34 RBIs and 10 stolen
bases in 89 games.

Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, rehabbing from surgery on
his fractured left wrist, said the progress has been slower than
expected.
The right fielder was hoping to return within six weeks after
suffering a left hamate fracture on a swing June 26 and undergoing
surgery two days later.
There is no timetable for his return.

Minnesota Twins left-hander Tommy Milone will be placed on the
15-day disabled list Monday with a flexor tendon strain in his left
elbow.
Right-hander Tyler Duffey will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester
to take Milone's spot in the rotation.

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Tyler Wilson will travel with the
team to Oakland and make his second start of the season if
right-hander Chris Tillman (left ankle sprain) is unable to pitch.

Atlanta Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons missed Sunday's game with
what the team is calling a sprained right thumb. Although X-rays
taken Saturday night were negative, there is no timetable for his
return.

The Tampa Bay Rays will option pitcher Matt Moore to Durham on
Monday. Moore is 1-3 with an 8.78 ERA since returning from Tommy
John surgery.

The Texas Rangers put right-hander Tanner Scheppers on the 15-day
disabled list with left knee inflammation. The set-up man has a 5.66
ERA in 38 appearances for the Rangers. Texas recalled Phil Klein to
take the roster spot of Scheppers.

The New York Yankees placed rookie fight-hander Diego Moreno on the
15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow.
Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran returned to the starting lineup
after a sore left foot held him out of the game Saturday.

Los Angeles Angels left-hander C.J. Wilson said the results of an
MRI on his pitching elbow showed bone spurs on "all four sides of my
elbow." He is considering surgery, which would likely sideline him
for the rest of this season.

Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis was not in Sunday's
lineup as a precaution. Kipnis is nursing a sore right shoulder, and
