LINCOLN
- Marion E. Maaks, 92 of Lincoln, formerly of New Holland, died at
5:17 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Christian Village.

Visitation:
Friday, August 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the
Zion Lutheran Church in New Holland.
Service:
Friday at 11 a.m. at the church

Obituary
Marion was born March 1, 1923 in Lincoln, the son of
Charles F. and Bertha Puls Maaks. He married Mildred
M. Sheley December 29, 1944 in Missouri. She
survives in Lincoln.
He is also survived by his children: Mike (Tracy)
Maaks of New Holland; Duane (Fay) Maaks of
Carterville; Richard (Donna) Maaks of Normal; Ronald
(Cathy) Maaks of Normal; Mary (Ron) Coulter of
Springfield, MO; one daughter-in-law, Karen; twelve
grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his parents; one son,
James; a brother, Melvin and sister, Myrtle (Wayne)
Sheley.
Marion is a retired farmer, member of Zion Lutheran
Church of New Holland, former member of the Farm
Bureau, and loved to square dance. |
Services for Marion will be Friday, August 7, 2015
at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of New Holland
with Rev. Charles Olander officiating. Burial will
be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland,
following the services. Visitation will be from
9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be
given in Marion’s name to Zion Lutheran Church or to
the donor’s choice. Arrangements were entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
