The NHL on Thursday morning confirmed that the league is
aware of accusations stemming from an incident involving the
26-year-old Kane, who has an offseason home in Hamburg, N.Y.,
just south of Buffalo.
The Buffalo News reported that no charges have been filed as of
Thursday morning and it was unclear whether authorities had
questioned Kane.
According to television station WKBW, the alleged incident
involved Kane and a woman, and began at a bar.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with veteran center
Matt Cullen on a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Cullen, 38, played the past two seasons with the Nashville
Predators.
In 17 NHL seasons, Cullen has played 1,212 games for the Anaheim
Ducks, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators,
Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes. He has 219 goals and 407
assists.

The Colorado Avalanche re-signed goaltender Calvin Pickard to a
one-year contract, two-way contract worth $850,000 in the NHL.
Pickard, 23, spent most of last season with Lake Erie of the
American Hockey League. But, in 16 games over five stints with
Colorado, he went 6-7-3 with a 2.35 goals-against average and
.932 save percentage.
He became the first goalie in NHL history to record his first
two career wins in relief in back-to-back team games.

The Arizona Coyotes re-signed defenseman Brandon Gormley to a
one-year, two-way contract that has a NHL salary of $850,500.
