[August 12, 2015]  LINCOLN - The weather was perfect Wednesday evening for the Logan County Fair 4-H Scrambles. The crowd packed the grandstand shortly after 7:30 p.m. to cheer on the scramblers.

First up was the chicken scramble, which featured small children who were either too timid to grab a chicken or who were eager enough to grab two at a time.

Next the goats were let loose on the track amidst the running youngsters.

Soon after that the 2015 Logan County Fair Queen Lizzie Ford and Little Miss Logan County Preslee Sherren helped grease the pigs. This part of the scramble is always entertaining as the crowd hears squeals from the kids and pigs alike.

The grand finale of the evening was the calf scramble, which featured the scramblers wrestling the ornery calves, who outweighed them. We will see these calves next year when the winners bring them back for judging.

In addition to the scrambles, it was also 4-H night on the stage with special recognitions and scholarship acknowledgments offered to outstanding young members.

The annual Scramble Calf show was held with the winners of last year's scramble calves showing their year long project for judging in front of the stage.

Other scramble winners from last year were also recognized this year for the work they had done on their livestock project.

This year there were fun and games for the grown ups as well, as several took to the track to play child like games that filled everyone with laughter.
