Orioles 4, Athletics 2
Steve Clevenger hit a three-run homer while Chris Tillman won his
seventh straight decision as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Oakland
Athletics.
Clevenger's three-run homer, which came off A's starter Sonny Gray
(12-5), gave the Orioles a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning.
That proved enough for Tillman (9-7) to win.
The right-hander gave up two runs, homers by third baseman Danny
Valencia and left fielder Mark Canha, and three hits in seven
innings.

Indians 8, Red Sox 2
Danny Salazar continued his marvellous run of pitching while right
fielder Lonnie Chisenhall drove in three runs to lead the Indians to
an 8-2 rout of the Boston Red Sox.
Salazar (11-6) allowed a run on four hits in seven innings, yielding
only a home run to first baseman Travis Shaw that gave Boston a 1-0
lead in the third inning.

Diamondbacks 4, Pirates 1
Jake Lamb homered to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-1 victory
over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Lamb connected for his fifth home run of the season in the fourth
inning, a solo shot off Gerrit Cole (14-7) that put the Diamondbacks
ahead 4-0.

Cardinals 2, Giants 1
First baseman Mark Reynolds broke a tie in the bottom of the eighth
inning from a fielder's choice as St. Louis eked out a 2-1 verdict
over the San Francisco Giants.
Kevin Siegrist (4-0) pitched a clean eighth to earn the win for the
Cardinals (76-42), while closer Trevor Rosenthal picked up his 37th
save in 39 opportunities.
St. Louis moved six games ahead of Pittsburgh, a 4-1 loser to
Arizona, in the National League Central.

Marlins 6, Brewers 2
Derek Dietrich hit his eighth home run of the season while Justin
Nicolino worked into the seventh inning as the Miami Marlins beat
the Milwaukee Brewers.
Nicolino (8-7) walked two, struck out three and held Milwaukee to
two runs and two hits in 6-2/3 innings to win for the third time in
four starts.

Rangers 4, Mariners 3
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre did plenty of damage with
his bat, but his eye proved the game winner in Texas' 4-3 victory
over the Seattle Mariners.

Beltre went 3-for-4 with three RBIs but did not swing the bat in
drawing a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning to give Texas
(60-57) their fifth consecutive win.

Rays 9, Astros 2
Right-hander Erasmo Ramirez benefited from an early offensive surge
courtesy of second baseman Tim Beckham's three-run homer as the
Tampa Bay Rays clubbed the Houston Astros 9-2.
Ramirez (10-4) became the third Tampa Bay pitcher to record 10 wins
in a season after he was acquired via trade, joining Mark
Hendrickson (2004) and Matt Garza (2008).

Yankees 8, Twins 7 (10 innings)
Chase Headley had a bases-loaded groundout with nobody out in the
bottom of the 10th inning to lift the New York Yankees to an 8-7
victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Angels 2, White Sox 1
C.J. Cron's one-out home run in the seventh inning snapped a 1-1 tie
and lifted the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-1 win over the Chicago
White Sox.
Cron's tie-breaking homer and the home run by designated hitter
Albert Pujols in the second inning were just enough to push the
Angels over the top.

Padres 5, Braves 3
Will Venable had two RBIs while Matt Kemp and Yonder Alonso both
homered as Colin Rea won his second successive start as the San
Diego Padres defeated the Atlanta Braves.
Rea (2-0) pitched 5-2/3 innings and was charged with two runs and
five hits. He struck out four and walked two.
Craig Kimbrel pitched the ninth for his 34th save of the season.
