[August 20, 2015]  LINCOLN - Marvin E. Lessen, 71, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation: Tuesday, August 18, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Service: Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln

Marvin E. Lessen, 71, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lessen will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Pastor Candida Turner officiating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Hartsburg Union Cemetery in Rural Hartsburg.

Marvin Eugene Lessen was born on March 18, 1944, in rural Lincoln, the son of Joe J. and Bernice (Bruns) Lessen. He was united in marriage on November 3, 1962, to Andra Kay Spaits at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Teresa L. "Teri" (Earle) Cagle of Edinburg, Jeffrey (Jackie) Lessen of Lincoln; daughter-in-law: Kristie Lessen of Sherman; two brothers: Larry Joe (Bev) Lessen, and Ben (Charlene) Lessen, both of Lincoln; one brother-in-law: Vernon (Pat) Lockenour of Lincoln; six grandchildren: Jeremy (Christina) Cagle, Jillian Cagle, Jonathan (Christine) Lessen, Joseph Lessen, Matthew Lessen, and Addison Lessen; and two great-granddaughters: Emma & Grace Cagle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Timothy Joe Lessen, and Jacob Eugene "Jake" Lessen; one brother: James B. Lessen; and one sister: Nora Mae Lockenour.

Marvin graduated from the New Holland-Middletown High School in 1962.

He is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Logan County Farm Bureau, and Goldwing Chapter P of Lincoln (Past President). He was currently serving as the West Lincoln Township Clerk.

He retired from farming west of Lincoln and was a part-time carpenter.
Marvin enjoyed farming, carpentry, riding his Goldwing and their trips, golfing but most important his family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Church Pork Project or the Prader-Willi Homes of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin c/o Hansen Homes where his granddaughter Jillian Cagle resides. Memorials will be used for remodeling of a kitchen.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Peasley Funeral Home.
