Obituary
Thomas E. Polk Sr., 84, of Mount Pulaski, passed
away at 3:28 p.m. Saturday August 22, 2015 at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Tom was born on March 19, 1931 in Pana, to Thomas
Floyd and Ina Mae Haubner Polk. He married Olivia A.
O’Leary on October 9, 1949. She preceded him death
on September 19, 2005.
Surviving are three sons; Thomas (Margie) Polk Jr.
of Mount Pulaski, Tim (Lou Ann) Polk, of Mount
Pulaski and Terry (Diane) Polk of Decatur, siblings;
Barbara Williamson of Lostant, Jerry (Shirley) Polk
of Sullivan, Judy Herbord of Sullivan, Connie Lewis
of Silver Cliff, CO, Kathy Langley of Silver Cliff,
CO; eight grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents and siblings; Donald Polk, Patricia Polk,
Emily Greiwe, Daniel Polk, Nancy Jo Polk, and Bonnie
Milner, and one grandson Thomas Polk III. |
Tom was a construction foreman for Wilham
Construction and a retired millwright. He enjoyed
camping, fishing, playing cards, and a big Chicago
Cubs fan.
Services for Tom will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday August
26, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Mount Pulaski, with Stephen Collins officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. (two hours prior
the service).
Memorials may be made to the family of Thomas Polk
Sr. Burial at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery will be held at a
later date.
