[August 27, 2015]  LINCOLN -  Emogene Thomas, 91, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation: From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Sunday, August 30, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, at Lincoln Christian Church

Obituary

Emogene Thomas, 91, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at Lincoln Christian Church with Pastor Ron Otto officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Little Zion Cemetery, Rural White County with Pastor Tracy Thomas officiating.

Emogene was born September 24, 1923, in rural White County, the daughter of Ray D. and Mamie (Garrett) South. She married Robert Thomas Sr. on June 6, 1948, in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2013.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, the Little Lambs Sunday School Class, and Abraham Shrine #100. She worked for the Eaton Corporation in Lincoln for 17 years.

Funeral Directors

Surviving are her children: Gary (Alita) Thomas of Olney, Caroline Nota of Bathe, Mamie (Dennis) Shull of Lincoln, and Robert Jr. "Bob" (Penny) Thomas of Lincoln, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and her siblings Phyllis Sanders of Norris City, Garrett (Dorothy Jean) South of Enfield, and Carroll (Dixie) South also of Enfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Thomas Sr., her daughter Connie Albert, her grandson Tracy Thomas, her sisters Helen South and Dorothy York and her brother Doyle South.

Memorial donations may be made to Harvest of Talents at Lincoln Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
