Lincoln was streaky in the first set and had to overcome a
late 21-23 deficit to win the set 25-23. In set two, the Lady Lynx
found their rhythm and led most of the way to take the set 25-20.
Things got interesting in set three as LC came out slow and made
several errors to go down 0-11. Lincoln was able to regroup and
actually shrunk IVCC's lead to only two points, but eventually fell
22-25. In set four, LC returned to form and was in control most of
the way to a 25-17 win.

LC Coach Mark Tippett: "I was please with our effort tonight, and I
thought we did very well for our first real match of the season.
"Our passing was rough at times which made it hard for the offense
to get in rhythm. I am sure nerves had a little to do with it, so I
look for that to improve as we get more comfortable playing
together.

"As expected, our blockers were tough on IVCC and that made a big
difference in the match. We also served more consistently than they
did and our communication was strong.
"Set three started off as a complete disaster, but I was actually
impressed with the way our team battled back and never gave up. That
is a great quality to see in a young team and bodes well for the
future."
Lincoln is 1-0 on the season and plays next on Friday at Harper
College in Palatine.
