The annual tradition of lighting up a tree to remember those who
have passed, appreciate those healthcare professionals providing
great care, and honor those still living will take place on the
Woods Patio at ALMH.
Everyone is welcome to attend this year’s event, which will be held
at ALMH on Tuesday, December 1, starting at 5:30 p.m. During the
short program, attendees will light a candle, sing along with
cherished Christmas tunes, and witness the ceremonial lighting of
the Light Up A Life tree.
A complimentary soup supper with limited seating will follow the
program. Due to limited seating, reservations for the soup supper
are required. However, the original deadline of November 16 has been
extended and interested individuals may call 217-605-5006 by
November 24 to secure their seat.
Hospital chaplain Donna Berte will lead the service and local
musician David Helm will lead the singing. Vickie Bruce is serving
as this year’s honorary chairperson.
Each Light Up A Life tribute directly benefits healthcare in Logan
County. The suggested donation of $10 per name may be designated to
purchase medical equipment at ALMH, support needs of Logan and Mason
County patients served by Memorial Home Services Hospice Care, fund
scholarships for future ALMH healthcare providers, support efforts
of the Healthy Communities Partnership, provide enrichment
activities for Logan/Mason Rehab clients, or be designated to where
need is greatest.
