 ESPN footage showed Gronkowski walking from the X-ray room to the
Patriots' locker room with a slight limp but based on reports
Monday, the injury is not serious and he could return to the field
as early as Sunday night, Dec. 13, at Houston.

Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson, who is fourth in the
NFL with 814 rushing yards this season, suffered a fractured tibia
in Sunday's game, according to a Fox Sports report.
He presumably will miss a significant period of time, although it is
unclear how long he will be sidelined.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been placed
in the NFL's concussion protocol after taking a hit in Sunday's
39-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Roethlisberger was diagnosed with a concussion after leaving the
field late in the fourth quarter.

The Miami Dolphins fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor following
the 38-20 loss to the New York Jets.
Zac Taylor, the team's quarterbacks coach, will take over
play-calling duties for the remainder of the season. Taylor is in
his fourth season with the Dolphins and his third as the team's
quarterbacks coach.

The Carolina Panthers brought cornerback Cortland Finnegan out of
retirement for the stretch run, signing the veteran to their 53-man
roster.
Finnegan, 31, announced he was retiring in March.

The Indianapolis Colts placed running back Ahmad Bradshaw on
season-ending injured reserve and signed free agent running back
Zurlon Tipton.
Bradshaw injured his wrist during the Colts' 25-12 win over the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed linebacker Adarius Glanton to the
active roster from the Carolina Panthers' practice squad.

The Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is expected to
clear the league concussion protocol program by the middle of the
week, according to Falcons coach Dan Quinn.
Also Devin Hester, who hasn't played this season because of a turf
toe injury, is eligible to be activated for Sunday's game.

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he expects guard Geoff
Schwartz will be lost for the rest of the season with a leg
fracture.
Schwartz left Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Washington Redskins in the
first quarter.

Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston was not
seriously injured in Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills.
Houston was diagnosed with a strained posterior cruciate knee
ligament.

The Philadelphia Eagles released offensive lineman Julian
Vandervelde for the eighth time and signed center/guard Barrett
Jones from the practice squad of the Chicago Bears.
The latest transaction marked the third time Philadelphia has
released Vandervelde this season.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Alex Carrington was placed on injured
reserve, the team announced.
He reportedly tore a quad tendon in Sunday's 30-22 loss to the
Kansas City Chiefs and will need surgery.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham was placed on season-ending
Injured Reserve on Monday as a result of a patellar tendon injury to
his right knee on Sunday.
Graham will have surgery to repair the injury. The Seahawks had
declared on Sunday that Graham would be lost for the season.
