Gronkowski was injured during the fourth quarter of the Patriots'
30-24 overtime loss to the Broncos.
"There is no timetable for his readiness to return, which will be
determined in the days or hours prior to the appropriate game. Any
timetable reported prior to that final determination would be
speculative," the Patriots said in the statement.

The Arizona Cardinals placed running back Chris Johnson on injured
reserve/designated for return on Tuesday with a fractured tibia.
Johnson, who was injured during the third quarter of Sunday's 19-13
win over the San Francisco 49ers, will be eligible to return after
six weeks and able to play in a game after eight weeks. That would
leave Johnson available only if the Cardinals reach the Super Bowl.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger expects to be on
the practice field Wednesday and denied that he suffered a
concussion in Sunday's loss at Seattle.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger was dealing with "what is
now being called a concussion," even after the quarterback said he
completed concussion protocol at the team facility Tuesday.

Terrelle Pryor is rejoining the Cleveland Browns as a wide receiver.
He played the position with the team throughout training camp after
entering the NFL as a quarterback with the Oakland Raiders.

Browns quarterback Josh McCown will miss the rest of the season with
a broken collarbone, coach Mike Pettine said Tuesday.
Where the Browns turn next at quarterback is unclear, and Pettine
was in no mood to discuss the decision the day after Cleveland lost

"Monday Night Football."

Tony Romo is done for the season, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry
Jones has an optimistic outlook on the long view of his
quarterback's career.
Jones, speaking to 105.3 FM about Romo's future, offered a defensive
position on his most important offensive player.

"This is not a damn debate, guys. This is not a debate we're having
here. ... You're asking me what I think and I think we've got (an)
outstanding quarterback ahead of us for the next four or five

Veteran offensive lineman Jacques McClendon signed with the Miami
Dolphins, who released linebacker James-Michael Johnson.
McClendon has played in 23 career games with five starts.

Guard Adam Gettis was signed to the New York Giants' active roster
from the practice squad of the Oakland Raiders.
Gettis spent most of the season on the Giants' practice squad. He

reserve.
The Bills signed three players Tuesday, including defensive tackle

squad and released linebacker Terrance Plummer on Tuesday.
Lowdermilk was cut before the season by the San Diego Chargers, who
