[December 10, 2015]  Dec 9 (The Sports Xchange) - The NFL is making Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown pay for his touchdown celebration.

The league hit Brown with an $11,576 fine on Wednesday after he jumped into the goalpost and wrapped his legs around the padding during the Steelers' 45-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He was celebrating a 71-yard punt return for a touchdown.

"I got a little fine for it," Brown told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "(The NFL) didn't like it too much."

Brown, a six-year veteran, has 93 receptions for 1,310 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games this season.

Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine, in the strongest words possible, said "repercussions would be harsh" if quarterback Johnny Manziel messes up with another off-the-field incident.

The Browns named Manziel their starting quarterback on Tuesday -- two weeks after a two-game benching.

"(It's) hard to put things in a vacuum," Pettine said. "I don't want to sit here and say, 'Look at the degree of discipline.' It's hard to say we have a zero-tolerance policy. If something were to occur, I imagine the repercussions would be harsh."

Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly is in denial mode. He met the media and was peppered with questions that focused primarily on what looks like the latest failed fray into free agency for Philadelphia: running back DeMarco Murray's $42 million contract.

Kelly took 25 questions in his scheduled 10-minute press conference and 22 were directly or indirectly related to Murray, who is last in the NFL in rushing average among players with 150 carries or more.

Reports surfaced Monday that Murray aired his frustration to Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie. Murray was on the field for only 14 of 50 offensive snaps at New England on Sunday. ESPN reported a meeting took place. Kelly denied that.

"Yeah, that's not what happened. He sat next to Mr. Lurie on the plane on the ride home," Kelly said. "They were both sitting in first class and talked about the game and what happened with it. And then I've talked to DeMarco since then."

[to top of second column]

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who has a neck and shoulder injury, fully practiced and is expected to play Sunday at Jacksonville.

Hasselbeck experienced soreness and some muscle spasms in the wake of the injuries that he suffered against Pittsburgh last week. He said he felt better Wednesday than he did Monday and that the goal is to feel even better on Sunday.

Hasselbeck has a career 6-2 won-loss record against Jacksonville. He has posted wins in five straight starts dating to 2011. He has thrown for 1,464 yards, 10 touchdowns and had five interceptions along with a 90.1 passer rating in his eight career games against the Jaguars.

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram was placed in injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

Ingram has been bothered by a shoulder problem for several weeks but played in Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Ingram, who turns 26 on December 21, has 769 rushing yards this season and also caught 50 passes for 405 yards.

C.J. Spiller and Tim Hightower are likely to be the running backs in Ingram's absence.
