ATLANTA
- Atlanta Quilting Corner recently received a large donation of
quilting supplies. An avid quilter for more than 50 years, Delores
'Stephanie' Humphrey of Mahomet passed away January 2015. Her
daughter, Pat Van Arsdall, donated her mother's stash to the Atlanta
Quilting Corner for the group to use to "continue to make a
difference."

The Quilters would like to acknowledge publicly and thank Pat for
the generous donation of many yards of fabric, quilt patterns, and
quilt kits. This stash enables the Quilting Corner to make up quilt
kits that can be completed, at a quilters own pace, at home, then
returned, finished.
Other options are that the quilter may bring in their favorite
pattern and select fabric to complete a quilt at home and return it
finished. Or, they may choose a pattern and materials to make up
their own kit.
Kits, patterns, and fabric will be registered to the quilter so we
may keep an accurate count of quilts in progress.
Once quilt tops are finished, they may be quilted by the quilter, or
brought back to the Quilters Corner where it will be quilted and
finished by club members.

All finished quilts will be donated to the clubs charity goals. Those goals for
2016 include 50 quilts for the Children's Hospital at Saint Francis in Peoria
and in partnership with Atlanta Methodist Women Quilters, 50 quilts for
Cunningham Children's Home in Champaign and Lessie Bates Home in St. Louis.
The Quilting Corner meets every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Atlanta
Manor and every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Atlanta Memorial Community
House basement.
New members are always welcome, as as donations of materials for specific
projects. For more information: 217-960-6261 or djscalaska@yahoo.com
