Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who fractured the thumb on
his throwing hand while making a tackle on Sunday, won't need surgery
and will be "week-to-week."

Dalton met with a hand specialist Monday to determine the extent of
the injury.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck told reporters that his
goal was to start practicing this week.
"Feeling a lot better," Luck said. "The hope is that you can start
practicing before (being cleared to play) so that when you are
clear, you can hit the ground running.
Luck will meet with doctors later this week to determine his status
for Sunday's pivotal AFC South game against the Houston Texans at
Lucas Oil Stadium.

New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty suffered a sprained ankle
in Sunday night's 27-6 win over the Houston Texans and will miss
some games, according to reports.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported that X-rays were negative but the
Patriots are not sure if the sprain is the high-ankle variety, which
typically carries a more significant rehabilitation time. McCourty
is not expected to miss the playoffs.

Safety Antrel Rolle was placed on injured reserve with a sprained
knee and offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje rejoined the Chicago Bears'
53-man roster.
Rolle has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee
and hasn't participated in on-field workouts since he was hurt in a
Nov. 15 practice.

The eight finalists for the second annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship
Award were announced by the NFL on Monday.

The finalists, featuring four players from each conference, are
running back Justin Forsett of the Baltimore Ravens, running back
Matt Forte of the Chicago Bears, linebacker Luke Kuechly of the
Carolina Panthers, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck of the Indianapolis
Colts, wide receiver Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions, cornerback
Jason McCourty of the Tennessee Titans, tackle Joe Staley of the San
Francisco 49ers and safety Charles Woodson of the Oakland Raiders.

The Minnesota Vikings re-signed defensive end Justin Trattou and
waived safety Shaun Prater.
Trattou has been active for two games for the Vikings this season.
Prater was signed last week to add safety depth for Thursday night's
game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Miami Dolphins signed defensive tackle Deandre Coleman off their
practice squad.
To make room on the roster, the team placed tight end Brandon
Williams on injured reserve after he broke a bone in his foot
