Lincoln man arrested in Friday
night death on Pulaski Street

LINCOLN
- On Friday, December 11, 2015, at about 11:02 p.m., Lincoln Police
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Pulaski St, Lincoln, in
reference a well-being check.

Upon arrival, Lincoln Police officers were notified of water
coming from an upstairs apartment. Officers gained entry to the
apartment to check on the well-being and found an unresponsive
female and a male subject, later identified as Daniel Sims, 47, of
Lincoln.
Logan County Paramedics declared the unresponsive female as
deceased, later identified as Bobbi Smith, 39, of Springfield.
Lincoln Police secured the scene and conducted an investigation into
the matter. An autopsy was performed and investigators are awaiting
toxicology reports from the autopsy. The Lincoln Police always
thoroughly investigate these types of matters.

Daniel Sims was arrested for Concealment of a Death (Class 4 felony).
This investigation is still in progress by the Lincoln Police Department. The
arrest charges are merely allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent
unless and until proven guilty. All reports will be forwarded to the Logan
County State’s Attorney for review.
