							Obituary 
							Iona J. Batterton, 94, of Atlanta, passed away at 
							3:39 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at St. 
							Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Batterton will be at 10:30 
							a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at the Atlanta 
							United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Abel 
							officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the 
							service on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at 
							the church.
 
 Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
 
 Iona Jennie Amdor was born May 24, 1921, in 
							Manchester, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and 
							Laura Vogel Amdor. She married Leonard "Liz" 
							Batterton on May 18, 1946, at the Osman Methodist 
							Church in Osman, Illinois. He preceded her in death 
							on October 31, 2011.
 
 Iona is survived by one daughter-in-law, Yaletta 
							Batterton of Atlanta; one son, Norman (Beth Hamlin) 
							Batterton, of Castalia, NC; four grandchildren: Lyn 
							Ranea Harris, Laura (Tim) O'Donnell, Leigh (Travis) 
							Demling and Sarah Batterton; and 
							nine-great-grandchildren: Shelby Batterton; Kalleigh 
							Harris; Nick, Drew and Zach O'Donnell; and Logan, 
							Shane, Gabe and Reid Demling.

                She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Len 
				Batterton; and four brothers: Lyle, Elwood, Linville, and 
				Clayton Amdor.
 Iona was a graduate of Bellflower High School in Bellflower, 
				Illinois. She worked for State Farm Insurance Company until her 
				marriage to Liz. Together, they owned and operated the Batterton 
				Standard station in Atlanta from 1953 - 1986. She was a member 
				of the Atlanta United Methodist Church. Iona was the matriarch 
				of the Batterton family and will be so greatly missed.
 
 Memorials may be made to Atlanta United Methodist Church or 
				Olympia High School Softball/Baseball programs.
 
 Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral 
				Home of Atlanta.
