 Best Friends is a long established business formerly owned by Dr.
Ron Pierce. When Dr. Pierce retired in 2014, the owners of the
Greenhaven Animal Hospital in San Jose and also the Chai Dai Pet
Motel in Lincoln purchased the business.
The new veterinarians kept the doors open at Best Friends while
doing some remodeling, expanding, and upgrading of the facility.
This week they are ready to celebrate their accomplishments in
Lincoln. In addition to the ribbon cut, there will also be an open
house this Saturday for the public.
Wednesday morning, Doctors Bill Armbruster and George Eales stood
front and center in front of the new outdoor signage for the
business. They were surrounded by staff and members of the local
Chamber of Commerce as they prepared to cut the ribbon.
 Andi Hake of the Chamber congratulated the Best Friends team on
their decision last year to come to Lincoln and thanked them for
their work. Michelle Bauer was present as an alderman of the city of
Lincoln, a member of the Chamber, and also a patron of Best Friends.
She said she could attest that her animals were treated very well
and taken good care of when entrusted to the folks at Best Friends.
The owner, Bill Armbruster, thanked the Chamber and the community
for its support and took the time to introduce the staff members who
were there to be part of the celebration. Soon after, the ribbon was
snipped, and guests were invited inside for coffee, juice, muffins
and coffee cakes.
Office Manager and Certified Veterinary Technician Tina Lynn then
offered a quick tour of the building. In the reception area, guests
have an open floor area with bench seating along two walls. The exam
rooms are accessible directly from this room. Lynn explained there
was a large dog exam room with no table because putting large dogs
on tables increases their stress level.

There is also a small dog exam room with an adjustable height exam table. There
is a third room for cats. Lynn explained that cats have very sensitive noses,
and they have their own exam room so they won't detect any dog scent and become
more agitated.
Deeper into the building, Lynn showed some of the diagnostic and laboratory
areas as well as the digital x-ray room that gives doctors an immediate view of
internal issues with no waiting for the film to be processed and developed.
Out of sensitivity to the resident patients in the building, the tour did not
extend to the hospital area nor to the boarding area, though Lynn did explain
that the hospital offers temporary boarding for their patients whose owners may
be away from home for a bit. The boarding area includes housing as well as run
and play areas.
In addition to the regular services, Lynn said Best Friends is the only local
veterinarian service to have doctors on call 24 hours a day for emergency
treatment of animals who are ill or injured.
Lynn also said that the business that currently consists of Green Haven in San
Jose, Chai Dai and Best Friends in Lincoln, will soon be expanding again to
offer another small animal facility in the city of Sherman.
In addition to the Wednesday ribbon cut, Best Friends is inviting all the
community to come out on Saturday to an open house. The event will run from 1
p.m. to 3 p.m. and will include cookies, punch, and tours of the facility along
with door prizes.
Best Friends is located at 979 1575th Street (on Fifth Street Road, west of
Sysco).
