Hasselbeck aggravated his injured ribs in last Sunday's game against
the Jacksonville Jaguars. He told reporters that heavy breathing is
"not easy."
Charlie Whitehurst will be the starter if Hasselbeck can't play.
Andrew Luck remains sidelined with abdominal and kidney injuries.
The Colts also promoted cornerback Tay Glover-Wright to the 53-man
roster. To make room for Glover-Wright, Indianapolis waived outside
linebacker Daniel Adongo.

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed right tackle Jah Reid to a
three-year contract extension, the NFL Network reported.
Reid, 27, was signed by the Chiefs in early September, has started
eight games and had the best season of his five-year career.
Reid was a third-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2011
and only started seven games in four seasons with them before being
waived in September.

The New York Giants signed defensive tackle Barry Cofield to his
second stint with the club.

Cofield, 31, played for the Giants from 2006-10 and was a starter
all five seasons. He left as a free agent and played the next four
campaigns with the Washington Redskins before being sidelined by
injury.

The New England Patriots claimed receiver Leonard Hankerson off
waivers from the Atlanta Falcons and offensive lineman LaAdrian
Waddle off waivers from the Detroit Lions, the team announced.
Hankerson, 26, had 26 receptions for 327 yards and three touchdowns
in eight games with the Falcons this season. Waddle, 24, played
eight games for the Lions this season and made six starts. (Editing
