LINCOLN
- Lincoln's newest culinary hotspot has opened in downtown. Located
across from the Logan County Courthouse at 127 S. Kickapoo, Deep Roots
Bakery & Cafe has opened its doors for service Monday through Friday
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
|
In addition to a wide variety of baked goods, beginning at 11
a.m. Deep Roots offers a lunch fare that changes day to day.
The blackboard on the
walk out front announces what's for lunch. For Thursday, December
17th, the menu features a choice of Vegetable Soup, Ham Salad
Sliders, and Loaded Baked Potatoes.
The bakery has been open just over a week in its new location. Owner
Faye Boerma said they preferred a soft opening so they could find
out more about what people want before possibly expanding days to
include Saturdays, which could happen in the new year.
The Boerma's are not new to baking for the community as they used to
sell their popular sweet wares at the Farmer's Market and take
orders.

Now you can grab a quick carry out order, or sit comfortably in the
friendly warm décor and eat in.
A look through the many bakery photos already posted on facebook may
be highly persuasive in helping you to decide if this might become
your spot to stop for delectable's or even a new haunt to sit a
spell in your future.
