[December 19, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - After 25 years as the Unit Secretary for Mount Pulaski Community Unit School District 23, Linda Blue has officially decided to enjoy the good life.

Family and friends gathered Thursday afternoon to reminisce with Blue and wish her well in this next phase of her life. Looking back at her career with the school district she said, “Every day walking in the halls and seeing children and wishing them a good day or saying 'Good morning' was a good day.”

She smiled and seemed quite content when asked about her future plans, "For a while, probably just relaxing and trying to decide what the next chapter of my life is. I’m looking forward to it.”

Blue mentioned that she began her working career at the age of 20 at the State Bank of Lincoln. She said she worked at the downtown Broadway location for 16-17 years. “That was my first set of family members to work with. I was the youngest at the bank and I met some wonderful friends that I am still friends with today. I left there to be with my family in Mount Pulaski.”

Her family in Mount Pulaski currently would be husband, George, daughter Casie, and grandson Caden. Her son, Terry, lives in Memphis with his wife, Raquel, and two daughters, Sabrina and Brook.

No doubt as Blue has already adopted the “no hurry, no worry” attitude, she will enjoy the extra time with family and those trips to Memphis can be taken anytime now.

Congratulations, Linda, you’ve earned it!
