for next season, stripped of two scholarships the next two seasons
and faces a three-year probation for ethics violations by a former
coach.
The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions announced the sanctions
on Tuesday after former coach Gib Arnold was determined to have
breached conduct rules by failing to promote an atmosphere of
compliance and provided misleading information during a yearlong
investigation.
Arnold received a three-year show-cause penalty that extends through
Dec. 21, 2018. He coached the Rainbow Warriors to a 72-55 overall
record in four seasons before he was ousted in October 2014. Former

before the NCAA committee on infractions in January.

2016.
The NCAA rendered seven Level I violations against Southern Miss,
including fraudulent academic credit and impermissible financial

self-reported to the NCAA a secondary violation that occurred during
the lone season Tyndall spent with the program. He committed at
least one Level II/Level III NCAA violation with the Volunteers, the
Knoxville News-Sentinel reported Tuesday. Tyndall was fired on March
27 by the university.
