The Lightning also waived veteran goaltender Evgeni Nabokov,
according to multiple media outlets, although the team has not
officially announced that move.
Vasilevskiy, 20, has appeared in four games with the Lightning this
season, posting a record of 3-1-0 to go along with a 1.76
goals-against average and a .937 save percentage. The rookie earned
his first NHL victory on Dec. 16 at Philadelphia in his NHL debut,
making 23 saves on 24 shots.
He is likely to be the backup for Ben Bishop, now that Nabokov
reportedly has been waived.

Two shifts into Sunday's win against the Washington Capitals, St.
Louis defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk left the game because of a
lower-body injury.
Shattenkirk collided with Washington winger Alex Ovechkin before
sliding into the boards and did not return. There was no immediate
update on his condition after the game.

The Dallas Stars reassigned defenseman Jamie Oleksiak and right
winger Brett Ritchie to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey
League.
Oleksiak, 22, has registered eight points (one goal, seven assists),
eight penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 32 games for Dallas
this season.
Ritchie, 21, has posted four points (three goals, one assist) in
eight games this season.

The Washington Capitals reassigned defenseman Cameron Schilling to
the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.
Schilling, 26, has appeared in two NHL games with the Capitals.

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne missed his seventh game
in a row because of a knee injury but might take part in Tuesday's
morning skate before that night's game against Toronto at Nashville.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin missed his fifth game in a
row with a lower-body injury but practiced Saturday and could return
