Rangers 6, Panthers 3

Defenseman Dan Boyle's fluky third-period goal proved to be the difference as the New York Rangers held off the Florida Panthers.

Boyle's goal at 8:10 was a seemingly harmless fling to the net that deflected off the stick of Panthers defenseman Willie Mitchell and past goaltender Roberto Luongo for the deciding goal.

Rick Nash scored twice for the Rangers (29-15-4), including an empty-netter with 1:53 to go in regulation, to increase his season total to a league-leading 31.
