but that
would not last long. The Toppers wasted no time getting on the
scoreboard with back to back threes from the Collier twins to lead
6-4. Tri-City was able to stick with the Toppers the first 6:00
minutes of play and even the score at 12 -12 at one point. A fadaway
jumper from Lukas Aylesworth would give Mount Pulaski a 14-12 lead
at the 1:46 mark and the Toppers never looked back from this point
on. Dalton Litterly ended the first quarter scoring by connecting
for a three and giving the Toppers a 17-12 lead.
Will Stewart's eight points in the second quarter led the Toppers to
a 38-18 halftime lead.
The Toppers continued a balanced scoring attack in the third quarter
with Matt Amidon tossing in five points and Litterly and Stewart
each chipping in four points. Mount Pulaski led 55-27 at the end of
three quarters.
The Mount Pulaski bench saw a lot of minutes in the fourth quarter
and it was senior Aaron Durchholz leading the way here with eight
points.
By the time the 32:00 minutes of play was over the Toppers had won
easily 74-34.
Will Stewart led the Toppers in scoring with 12 points and Dalton
Litterly and Brett Huff each chipped in nine points.
The Toppers record is now 12-9.
