Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and also one
hour prior to the services at the church on
Saturday.
Service:
Saturday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Eminence
Christian Church, 1605 2500th Street, rural Atlanta.

Obituary
Mr. James E. Webb, 86, of Normal, formerly of
Atlanta, died at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, February 1,
2015, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in
Bloomington.
Funeral services for Mr. Webb will be held on
Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at
Eminence Christian Church, 1605 2500th Street, rural
Atlanta. Dr. LC Sutton and Pastor Brent Salm will
officiate. Burial will be in Roaches Chapel Cemetery
in rural McLean.
Military rites will be accorded by the Atlanta
American Legion Post #341.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta and for one hour at the
church prior to the service on Saturday.
James Eugene Webb was born July 7, 1928, the son of
George and Nellie Moran Webb in Tennessee, Ill. He
married Lillian May Wetzel on October 31, 1948 in
Colchester.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Lillian; their
children: Susan (John) Swearingen of Atlanta, Patty
Heck of Stanford, and David Webb of Hot Sulphur
Springs, CO.; niece: Rose (Dave) Collins of
Bloomington, who was raised by Jim and Lillian for
many years; four grandchildren: Jeff (Michelle)
Heck, Jennifer (Andy) Jacobs, Jackie Heck and James
Douglas "J.D." Webb; five great-grandchildren:
Gavin, Morgan and Jackson Heck, and Kaleb and
Kaitlin Jacobs; one sister: Donna (Jack) Dorethy of
Lakeview, Ark; one sister-in-law: Mary "Kim" Webb of
Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews. |
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Thomas Ellsworth
Webb, Albert Webb, and Joe Webb; and three sisters: Evelyn
Hatch, Margaret Atchison, and Pauline Leighty.
Jim served in the Army and Illinois National Guard
and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was
stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
Recently Jim was a member of College Park Christian
Church in Normal and had previously been a member of
Eminence Christian Church. He was a former member,
Deacon, Elder and Sunday School Superintendent at
Atlanta Christian Church. He had retired from
Lawndale Grain, Inc. after 28 1/2 years and had
farmed with his father in Tennessee, Ill. In
addition, Jim had worked many part time jobs over
the years, lastly working for Crop Production
Service.
Jim enjoyed RVing and camping with his family. He
always looked forward to the annual Labor Day
Weekend Webb Family Camping Reunion.
Memorials may be made to College Park Christian
Church in Normal or the Eminence Christian Church
Building Fund.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
