02/08/2015 MLB Note - Colorado Rockies Flande, Yohan

LHP Yohan Flande, designated for assignment by the Rockies on Feb. 4, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque two days later. Flande, 29, went 0-6 with a 5.19 ERA in 16 games (10 starts) for Colorado last year, his first major league experience. In 18 games (16 starts) for Triple-A Colorado Springs in 2014, he finished 3-11 with a 5.60 ERA.

MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Badenhop, Burke

RHP Burke Badenhop agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Reds on Feb. 7. The contract includes a mutual option for 2016. In 70 relief outings for Boston last year, Badenhop, 32, finished 0-3 with a 2.29 ERA. In a major league career that began in 2008, Badenhop holds a career 18-23 record with a 3.71 ERA in 350 games (10 starts) for the Marlins, Rays, Brewers and Red Sox.

MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Gregg, Kevin

RHP Kevin Gregg signed a minor league deal with the Reds on Feb. 8, and he was invited to the team's major league spring camp. He would make at least $1.5 million if he spends the entire season on the Cincinnati roster. Gregg, 36, made 12 appearances for the Brewers last year, allowing 10 runs in nine innings, missing the end of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery Aug. 7 to remove bone chips from his right elbow.

MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Guillon, Ismael

LHP Ismael Guillon was designated for assignment by the Reds on Feb. 7 to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for newly signed RHP Burke Badenhop. Guillon, 22, went 1-6 with a 5.79 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) for high Class A Bakersfield last year.

MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Frazier, Todd

3B Todd Frazier agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract, avoiding arbitration on Feb. 8. Frazier previously requested a $5.7 million for 2015 in arbitration. The team offered $3.9 million. With the new contract, which covers Frazier's first two years of arbitration eligibility, Frazier will earn $4.5 million this season and $7.5 million in 2016. Frazier, 28, hit .273/.336/.459 with 29 homers and 80 RBIs last season.

MLB Note - Pittsburgh Pirates Walker, Neil

2B Neil Walker lost his arbitration case Feb. 7, and he will make $8 million in 2015. Walker, 29, filed for $9 million in arbitration but was awarded the figure that the Pirates offered. He made $5.75 million in 2014, when he batted .271/.342/.467 with 23 home runs and 76 RBIs in 137 games.

MLB Note - Miami Marlins Dunn, Mike

LHP Mike Dunn and the Marlins avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year, $5.8 million contract, according to a tweet from his agents. Dunn previously filed an arbitration request for a $2.6 million salary in 2015, while the Marlins countered with a bid of $2,355,000. He made $1.4 million last year. The deal buys out his two remaining years of arbitration eligibility. Dunn, 29, went 10-6 with a 3.16 ERA last season.

MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Parker, Jarrod

RHP Jarrod Parker lost his arbitration case Feb. 7. Parker, 26, will receive the $850,000 salary for 2015 that was proposed by the A's. He was seeking $1.7 million. Parker, who missed the 2014 season after undergoing a second career Tommy John surgery last March, isn't expected to make his return until the second half of the year. In 2013, Parker went 12-8 with a 3.97 ERA in 32 starts over 197 innings.

MLB Note - Texas Rangers Schierholtz, Nate

OF Nate Schierholtz signed a minor league contract with the Rangers on Feb. 6, and he received an invitation to the team's major league spring camp. If the 30-year-old veteran lands a spot on the major league roster, he would make $1.75 million in 2015. Schierholtz split last season between the Cubs and the Nationals, finishing with a .195/.243/.309 batting line, seven home runs and 37 RBIs. In 799 career games with the Giants, Phillies, Cubs and Nationals, Schierholtz has a .253/.302/.405 hitting line with 52 homers and 228 RBIs in 799 games.

MLB Note - New York Yankees Rodriguez, Alex

3B Alex Rodriguez will have a "clear-the-air" meeting with the Yankees. According to the Boston Globe, team GM Brian Cashman said earlier reports that the Yankees turned down a meeting with Rodriguez were not true. The New York Daily News reported in late January that Rodriguez made attempts to meet face-to-face with Yankees executives to apologize after his season-long steroid suspension, but he was told, "We'll see you in spring training." A-Rod met recently with new baseball commissioner Rob Manfred.

MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Valencia, Danny

INF Danny Valencia won his arbitration case Feb. 6. Valencia, 30, will be paid $1,675,000 for the 2015 season, instead of the Blue Jays' offer of $1.2 million. Last season, his salary was $532,500. The Blue Jays acquired Valencia in a July trade with the Kansas City Royals. In 2014, he hit .258/.296/.371 with four home runs and 30 RBIs in a combined 86 games.
