American Red Cross seeking nominations for 2015 Heartland Heroes
Help honor local heroes!

[February 09, 2015]  CENTRAL ILLINOIS - The American Red Cross serving Central Illinois needs your help in identifying and recognizing heroes among us. Every day people in Central Illinois do heroic things that make our community a better place to live. These humble heroes collect food items for the local pantry, shovel sidewalks for elderly neighbors or use their CPR training to save a life.

The American Red Cross serving Central Illinois is seeking nominations for the 2015 Heartland Heroes awards. Nominations are being accepted in three categories: Youth Heroes, Armed Forces & Public Service and Michel A. McCord Good Citizen.

If you know a local hero, please take a few minutes to complete the Heartland Heroes nomination form and tell their story. The nomination deadline is February 10, 2015. Nomination forms are available online at www.redcross.org/il/peoria/nominate-a-hero-2015 , at the Red Cross office 311 West John H. Gwynn Jr. Bldv., Peoria, IL 61605, or by calling 309-258-4920.

Heartland Hero winners will be recognized at the Heartland Heroes event in Spring of 2015.
