Now it is proposing the artistic equivalent of an “open mike
night”, extending an invitation to all the community’s dedicated and
enthusiastic artists who would like to have an opportunity to
			exhibit their artwork.
LCA members Mitch and Margie Douglas are spearheading the
organization of the show. As Mitch Douglas notes, “Everyone of us
knows someone who does artwork that is very good, but they might
say, ‘My stuff isn't good enough to be displayed…’ or ‘I can’t find
a place to show it for free..’ Well, now is the time to dust off
that artwork you worked so hard to finish. Dig through that corner
of the closet where you hide all your work, or that special drawer
in the cupboard, and join us in a show of great artwork by the many
artists of Lincoln and the surrounding area.”
As part of its mission, Logan County Arts wants to encourage artists
young and old to participate in the pursuit of art and wants to
enable the community to celebrate the talents of our artists. All
forms of artistic work – ceramic, sculpture, painting, photography,
etc. – will be accepted for the show and will be available for
public viewing at the Lincoln Art Institute from March 12 to March
31, 2015. Several local artists have already promised works for the
show, but there is still room for more artists. Works should be
submitted by March 9, between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. There is no charge
to participate and all sale proceeds will go to the artist. For
more information about the submission process, artists can call
Mitch Douglas at 217-737-7428 or email him at
			asteal@hotmail.com.

The March show, “Calling All Artists”, will be the second
exhibition of the season for Logan County Arts. In February,
2015 Lincoln Art Institute will display members’ own works
focused on a theme of “Seeing Red”. The “Seeing Red” show will
open with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12 at the
gallery, located at 112. S. McLean St., next to the Lincoln Post
Office. More information about the “Calling All Artists” show
will also be available at that opening.
