Spirit Guides return to the Atlanta Public Library Feb. 14 thru March 4

[February 09, 2015]  February is Interior Dimensions Month at the Atlanta Public Library, and the month features the return of Spirit Guides, an exploration of writings by some of today’s exceptional theological and spiritual writers. Spirit Guides will meet Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. on February 14, 21, 28 and March 4. Join us at 8:30 by the fire in the adult reading room for coffee and pastries and then enjoy a robust discussion of Barbara Brown Taylor’s New York Times bestseller, An Altar in the World.

If you are interested in participating in Spirit Guides this year, please call the Library at 217-648-2112 to sign up. The Library will order books based on the number of participants. There will be a minimal charge for books. If you wish the Library to order a book, please sign up by February 1.

In An Altar in the World, Taylor shares how she learned to find God beyond the church walls by embracing the sacred as a natural part of everyday life. She shows us how to discover altars everywhere we go and in nearly everything we do as we learn to live with purpose, pay attention, slow down, and revere the world we live in.
