Obituary
Margaret Ann "Peg" Lindsey, 74, of Middletown,IL.,
passed away at 2:28 PM Monday, February 2, 2015 at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday,
February 5, 2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral
Home in Lincoln, with a Rosary service at 5 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 6,
2015 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Elkhart with
Father John officiating. Cremation rites will then
be accorded and burial will be at a later date in
Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Peg was born November 16, 1940 in Springfield, the
daughter of Donald and Jeanette (Armstrong) Gard.
She married Charles "Chuck" Lindsey on July 12, 1958
in Athens. Peg was a member of St Patrick's Catholic
Church in Elkhart where she played the organ for
many years. She was a member of the Lay Dominicans.
She graduated from Athens High School in 1958. She
was a member of the Sangamon Valley Civic Orchestra
where she played flute and piccolo. She was an
organist for several Logan County Catholic Churches
for many years and an accompanist for many students
at area music contests for many years. She was an
avid LA Lakers and St Louis Cardinals fan. |
Surviving are her husband Charles "Chuck" Lindsey of
Middletown, her children: Debbie Lindsey of
Springfield, Steve (April) Lindsey of Springfield,
Lisa (Jim) Leach of Springfield, and Becky (Bob)
Huddleston of Greenview; her grandchildren: Bobbi
(Joyce) Maloney, Michael Lindsey, Lindsey (Fiance
DJ) Leach, Lydia Lindsey, Dylan Leach, Kyle
Huddleston, Jenna Huddleston, and Caleb Huddleston;
and her great grandson Joseph Cater; her siblings:
George (Elaine) Gard of Stevens Point, WI, Jim
(Betty) Gard of Mendota, Judy (Dan) Weisman of
Springfield, and Elynor (Chub) Nance of Athens. She
is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial donations may be made to Middletown Fire
and Rescue and will be accepted at the funeral home.
