[February 17, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Art Institute on the Square in downtown Lincoln played host to the February art show of Logan County Arts on Thursday evening.

The title of the show is “Seeing Red” with the color red appearing in all of the art being displayed. The show features photography, painting, and sculpture from artists throughout Logan County who comprise Logan County Arts.

Lincoln artist Mitch Douglas said the artwork on display showcases the versatility of the color red. “Red can make other colors pop, it enhances all of the other colors in a work of art. Red is not all consuming when paired with other colors,” he said.

The gallery was filled with visitors Thursday evening enjoying the beautiful interior of the Lincoln Art Institute as well as the diverse selections of art, all with a red theme. From the beautiful turned wood bowls with red wood from artist Jason Hoffman to the humorous and whimsical paintings and constructs of Tony Shuff, the show has something for everyone.

Kerry Rolewicz built a pyramid of red items from her home that she carefully fitted together. It towered over those attending.
