							Creek Village, Lincoln.

She was born on July 2, 1932 at the family farm in
rural Hanna City to Charles Clifford and Mayme Boyer
Doubet. She married Henry Alan Steiger in 1956 in
Hanna City. He survives in Lincoln. Also surviving
are her children: Cynthia (Brent) Scott,

							Frieling, Buffalo Grove; and Scott Steiger, Lincoln;
her sisters: Jean Brentz, Peoria; and Carol (Gail)
Cowser, Glasford; 5 grandchildren; and many uncles,
							aunts, brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn was a graduate of Farmington Community High
School. She received a BS in education from ISU and
a MS in clothing and textiles from the U of I in
Champaign-Urbana. Marilyn worked as a teacher and
substitute teacher for various high school
districts. She was a member of the Farm Bureau
Women's Club and East Lincoln Community Chest. She

A family burial will be held at New Union Cemetery
with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later
date. Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home has
been entrusted with her care. Marilyn asked that
memorials be made either to First Presbyterian
Church of Lincoln or to her wonderful hospice Safe
							Haven.

Her passions were her faith, her husband, her
family, her friends, and a good game. Please
remember her laughter, competitiveness, and deep
							love for all of you.
