[February 20, 2015]  LINCOLN - At a time when many colleges and universities are increasing costs or freezing tuition rates, Lincoln Christian University (LCU) is announcing a major decrease to its traditional undergraduate tuition costs.

At a chapel service this month, LCU President Dr. Don Green announced to the student body that tuition prices would be lowered for the upcoming academic year. This rate will apply to both new and returning students. With a decrease of more than $100 per credit hour, the average LCU traditional undergraduate student can expect to pay $12,900 a year in tuition beginning with the fall 2015 semester. This represents a drop of about $3,000 a year.

“Since being named President, I have been voicing my concern with the rising cost of education and increasing student debt load. One of our strategic initiatives is to make the LCU educational experience more accessible and more affordable to more students,” explained LCU’s Dr. Don Green who was named LCU President in December. “We are asking our alumni, friends, and partner churches to step up and to help subsidize the cost of an LCU education through the Lincoln Leaders Annual Fund."

With the announced decrease, LCU has improved its standing as one of the most affordable private higher education institutions in Illinois, to one of the most affordable private four-year universities in the U.S.

“This move presents students with the opportunity to receive a great education for just about the most affordable price tag they’ll find anywhere in the country,” Mac Ingmire, LCU’s Director of Undergraduate Enrollment said. “We believe we offer a uniquely beneficial higher education experience, especially for those looking to attend a university that will equip them not just academically but spiritually as well. And now, we offer it at a more manageable cost than many other schools.”
