Obituary
William Leroy "Bill" Stoltzenburg, 79, of Hartsburg,
IL., passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St
John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday,
January 5, 2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral
Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will follow at 7
p.m. with Mike Stoltzenburg officiating. Cremation
rites will then be accorded and burial will be at a
later date in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Bill was born on July 17, 1936, the son of Armin and
Nelva (Goldhammer) Stoltzenburg. He retired as a
Supervisor from Caterpillar in Morton, IL. in 1996
after more than 30 years of service. Bill was a
member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln, IL.,
a 4H leader for Logan County 4H 5 H Horse and Pony
Club, member of the Kickapoo Saddle Club, member of
Logan County REACT, a member of Logan County Mounted
Search and Rescue, and a member of the original
Mounted Sheriff's Auxiliary Police in Logan County. |
Surviving are his daughters Brenda Merriman of
Cloverdale,IN. and Patti (Jeff) Baker of Decatur,
IL.; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and his
sister Wanda Lolling of Hartsbug, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother
Wilfred Stoltzenburg, his infant sister Luella
Stoltzenburg, and his son Bill Stoltzenburg.
Memorial donations may be made to Logan County 4H to
establish a scholarship in Bill's name and will be
accepted at the funeral home.
