Obituary
Winifred Thompson, 88, of Lincoln passed away at
11:45 p.m. December 25, 2014 at The Christian
Village Nursing Home. Winifred was born March 11,
1926 in Lincoln, the daughter of William and Ida
Krause. She married Rolland Wayne Thompson in 1948
in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Surviving Winifred are her children; Kathryn (Louis)
Gietl of Springfield, Lisa Thompson (Michael Murray)
of San Rafael, CA. and Kevin Thompson of Lincoln;
her grandchildren; Anna Gietl, Grace Gietl, Rachael
Murray, and Gabriella Murray; and one
great-grandchild, Angela Gietl.
Winifred was preceded in death by her parents;
eleven brothers and sisters;

Winifred had a bachelor of science in nursing and
was a Logan county nurse for many years, and was
highly respected in her profession. Above all else
Winifred loved her family and was very involved in
her children’s lives.
A graveside service will be held for Winifred will
be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at New
Union Cemetery in Lincoln with Tim Searby
officiating. Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Memorials donations may be to the donor’s choice.
