Penguins 6, Lightning 3
Steve Downie returned from a six-game absence due to the mumps to
score the game's final two goals as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the
Tampa Bay Lightning 6-3 in a battle for the Eastern Conference lead.
Sidney Crosby had four assists as the Penguins (24-9-5) won for the
second time in three days following a season-worst four-game losing
streak.
The Lightning dropped to 24-12-4.

Wild 3, Maple Leafs 1
Jared Spurgeon and Mikko Koivu scored in the third period to snap a
1-1 tie as the Minnesota Wild started 2015 with a 3-1 win over the
Toronto Maple Leafs.
Charlie Coyle had a pair of assists, including the set-up on
Spurgeon's game winner, lifting the Wild (18-14-4) to just their
second victory in the past two weeks.
Goaltender Jonathan Bernier had 26 saves for the Maple Leafs
(21-15-3).

Canadiens 4, Devils 2
Carey Price stopped 22 shots to earn the 200th victory of his NHL
career, and Michael Bournival scored his first two goals of the
season, as the Montreal Canadiens beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2.
The victory was the fifth straight and eighth in their last nine
games for the Canadiens (25-11-2), who moved into a tie for first
place in the Atlantic Division with Tampa Bay.
The loss was the 10th in the last 12 games for the slumping Devils
(13-20-7).

Panthers 2, Sabres 0
Roberto Luongo made 30 saves to lead the Florida Panthers to a 2-0
win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Luongo got the 68th shutout of his career while Brad Boyes and Nick
Bjugstad scored for the Panthers (17-10-9).
Michal Neuvirth made 31 saves for Buffalo (14-22-3).

Hurricanes 2, Flyers 1
Cam Ward made 20 saves and the Carolina Hurricanes snapped a
three-game losing streak by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1.
Brad Malone and Eric Staal scored for Carolina (11-23-4).
Ward, who posted a season-high 37 saves against the Penguins on
Wednesday, stopped 23 shots against the Flyers (14-17-7).

Ducks 4, Blues 3
Anaheim winger Matt Beleskey scored his team-leading 16th goal as
the Ducks held on behind goalie Frederik Andersen's 39 saves to
defeat the St. Louis Blues 4-3.
Despite 29 saves by Martin Brodeur, St. Louis (22-13-3) lost their
ninth in a row at Anaheim, and are 0-4-1 in their past five road
games.
Anaheim, shut out at home on Wednesday by San Jose, improved to
25-9-6.

Avalanche 2, Oilers 1 (shootout)
Matt Duchene and Alex Tanguay scored shootout goals as the Colorado
Avalanche beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1.
Semyon Varlamov made 27 saves through regulation and overtime and
stopped both Edmonton shooters in the shootout for Colorado
(15-15-8).
Daniel Briere scored in regulation for the Avalanche.

Islanders 2, Flames 1
John Tavares scored twice to lead the Islanders to a 2-1 victory
over the Calgary Flames.
The Islanders (26-11-1) have won three straight while the Flames
(21-16-3) had their four-game winning streak snapped.
