[January 03, 2015]

This upcoming Ward 3 Republican Lincoln City
Primary will have a polling place change in order to be more cost
effective for this election. The Logan County Courthouse will serve
as the polling place for this election only and will serve the
voters as in regular elections from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The
polling place will be located inside the judge’s chambers on the
first floor of the courthouse and will not require voters to go
through the metal detector. Three election judges from Ward 3 have
been chosen to serve on that day. The Office of the County Clerk
will be open with the same hours for Election Day Grace Period
Registration.
The by mail absentee application for Ward 3
Voters is now available on line at our website at: http://www.co.logan.il.us/county_clerk
and can be downloaded and printed for submission. A registered voter
can mail, email, hand deliver or fax their request for a ballot into
our office no later than February 19. A voter may vote in person as
an Early Voter at the Office of the County Clerk beginning January
15 – through February 23. If a resident is not registered and would
like to vote, they can do so with two forms of identification at
Office of the County Clerk through Election Day.

This February 24, 2015 Republican Primary Election is only
for Ward 3 voters. Please call the Office of the County Clerk
to check your voting status, or at the aforementioned website.
The cast ballots will be hand counted on Election Day by the
Election Judges rather than counted electronically (10 ILCS
5/24-1.2). Again, this effort is to save our taxpayers hundreds
of dollars for this election and is a demonstration of good
stewardship of our funds.
