Sharks 3, Jets 2
Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic scored the winning goal with five
seconds remaining, and the San Jose Sharks earned a 3-2 victory
over the Winnipeg Jets.
Vlasic scored his fifth goal of the season off a pass from
center Joe Pavelski just seconds after a faceoff deep in the
Winnipeg end.
The game was the only one on the NHL schedule on Monday but it
was a big one in the Western Conference.
The Sharks (21-14-5) and the Jets (20-13-7) are tied with 47
points and hold down the two wild-card spots in the conference.
