Obituary
Glenn Frederick Michaelis, 78, of Lincoln, passed
away January 4, 2015 at Castle Manor.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Park Meadows Baptist
Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley
Cemetery, Kenney, with full military rites.
Glenn was born January 21, 1936 in St. Louis, MO.,
the son of Fred L. Michaelis and Zerelda L.
(Schulte) Michaelis. He married Mary D. Michaelis on
August 1, 1982 in Decatur. She preceded him in death
on December 15, 2014.
Glenn was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church in
Lincoln. He proudly served his country in the United
States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He retired
from the US Post Office and the United States Navy.
Glenn brought joy to many retirement home, nursing
home and hospital residents as Santa Claus. |
Surviving are his mother Zerelda Michaelis of
Clinton. ;his step children: Dale (Beverly) Phillips
of Hotsprings Village, AR., Diana (Harley) Pagel of
Lincoln, and Robert Phillips of Lincoln; his nieces
Tami (Chris) Sprague of Martinsville, IN. and Tori
Cox of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren and 7 great
grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, his wife
Mary, and his sisters Normajean Douglas and Marilyn
Chapin.
