							James R. Short, 86, of Lincoln passed away on 
							Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:50 a.m. at St. 
							Clara's Manor in Lincoln
 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on 
							Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the 
							Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln with Pastor Paul 
							Weber officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of 
							service.
 
 Burial will be held at a later date at Bethel 
							Cemetery at rural Emden.
 
 James Russell Short was born on March 15, 128 in 
							rural Atlanta the son of Lawrence and Grace Mammen 
							Short.
 He was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Johnson on 
							June 11, 1946 . She preceded him in death on April 
							22, 2012.
 
 Surviving Mr. Short are his children: Zelma Martin 
							of Atlanta, Billy J. Short of Lincoln. Four 
							grandchildren: Danny Martin, Josh (Chrissy) Short, 
							Jenny (Doug Gellner)Martin, Tiffany (Brent) 
							Winebrinner. Nine great grandchildren. Two sisters: 
							Mary (Carl) Smith of Atlanta and Sue Van Horn of 
							Riverton.

							He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Robin 
							Tackett, half brother: Lester Short, three brothers: 
							Tom Short, Lowell Short and Robert Short.
 Mr. Short was a member of Holy Family Catholic 
							Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1250 and was a 
							4th degree Knight.
 
 Jim farmed in East Lincoln Township for many years. 
							He also delivered fuel for Logan Butane, Riechle and 
							Illico.
 He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed 
							taking his grandchildren coon hunting. He also 
							enjoyed his trips around the country block in a 
							wagon being pulled by his Belgian horses.
