The Los Angeles Dodgers and catcher A.J. Ellis reached agreement on
a one-year, $4.25 million contract on Tuesday.
Ellis, who was eligible for arbitration, received a $700,000 raise
despite batting a career-low .191 last season with three home runs
and 25 RBIs in 93 games while battling a knee injury and a sprained
ankle.

The New York Yankees acquired right-hander Chris Martin in a trade
with the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday for cash considerations.
The 28-year-old Martin pitched 16 games in relief last season for
the Rockies in his first major league action and had a 0-0 record
with a 6.89 ERA.

A record $8.27 million bonus helped the Arizona Diamondbacks land
Cuban right-handed pitching prospect Yoan Lopez.
The deal, first reported by MLB Network, is pending a physical and
would surpass the $8 million bonus the Los Angeles Angels gave
infielder Roberto Baldoquin just last week.

The Atlanta Braves signed left-hander Wandy Rodriguez to a minor
league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to
reports Tuesday.
The 35-year-old was ready to sign a contract with the Philadelphia
Phillies several weeks ago, but the deal fell through after
Rodriguez reportedly failed a physical.

The Texas Rangers signed outfielder Carlos Peguero to a minor-league
contract with an invitation to spring training on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was with the Kansas City Royals in 2014 but spent a
majority of the year in Triple-A, where he belted 30 homers and hit
