[January 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - Elva Iona Boyd, 93, of Lincoln passed away at 11:51 a.m. January 6, 2015 at Advocate Bromenn, Normal.

Visitation: Sunday, January 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at :Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, at the funeral home.

Obituary

LINCOLN- Elva Iona Boyd, 93, of Lincoln passed away at 11:51 a.m. January 6, 2015 at Advocate Bromenn, Normal.

Iona was born July 7, 1921 in Atlanta, Illinois the daughter of William McKinley and Ada Birdie Voyles Millard. She married Arthur L. Boyd December 8, 1951 in Lincoln. He preceded her in death October 24, 1997.

Iona is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Rexroat of Atlanta and Colleen (James) Cabit of Lincoln; one son: Charles L. Kodatt of Lincoln; 17 grandchildren: Brian, Nathan, Kriscenda, Kelly, Jamey, Christopher, Shannon, Elizabeth, Kristin, Brookelynn, David, Vickey, Robert, Steven, Micheal, Vincent, Darin and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, three sisters, and two grandsons.

 

Elva was a nurse’s aide at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Mary Henry Nursing Home in Lincoln. She was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed traveling, country music, fishing and camping, animals and she was a “Die Hard Cubs Fan.”

Services for Elva will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Tony Shuff officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Beason. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 11 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her honor to the Humane Society of Logan County.
