Panthers split two with Springfield Christian

[January 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Chester-East Lincoln Panthers celebrated eighth grade night on Tuesday for all boys basketball players and cheerleaders.

The Panthers were defeated by Springfield Christian 54-19 in the eighth grade game.

Nick Toft lead the way with nine points; Dean Harris had four points, and Noah Funk and Nate Arnold scored three points each.

The seventh grade Panthers improved their record to 16-2 on the season with a 52-29 win over Springfield Christian.

Noah Funk had 11 points to lead the Panthers. Will Ewald and Isaac Dewberry had nine points, Jaden Pollice made seven points, Thomas Morris had six points, Austin Prater had five points, Xavier Miller had three points and Trevor Bree finished with two.

The Panthers will play Mount Pulaski on Thursday night at the Lincoln Center on the campus of Lincoln College for the seventh grade county championship at 7:15 p.m.
