Jaden Schwartz scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the
St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
Alexander Steen earned two assists for the Blues to extend his
consecutive games point streak to 10 as St. Louis raised their
record to 7-0-1 in their last eight games.

Canucks 2, Panthers 1
The Vancouver Canucks won their third consecutive game, beating
Florida 2-1 on the road as the Panthers lost their fourth straight.
Ryan Miller almost became the first Vancouver goalie in more than
six years to post three straight shutouts, but Florida center
Brandon Pirri scored a late goal, the first given up by Miller in
more than 200 minutes.

Hurricanes 4, Maple Leafs 1
Eric Staal scored twice as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the slumping
Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 on the road.
The Hurricanes are 6-2-1 in January, while it was the fifth loss in
a row for the Maple Leafs (22-22-3), who are 1-6-0 under interim
coach Peter Horachek. He replaced Randy Carlyle on Jan. 6.

Islanders 7, Flyers 4
Nikolay Kulemin scored two goals and the New York Islanders moved
into first place in the Eastern Conference with a 7-4 win over the
Philadelphia Flyers.
The Islanders (31-14-1) enter the All Star Break with five wins in
their last six games.

Devils 5, Sharks 2
Despite playing without leading scorer Jaromir Jagr (illness), the
depleted New Jersey Devils found enough offense to score a
surprising 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.
Travis Zajac and Jacob Josefson scored third-period goals to turn a
close game into a comfortable victory for the visitors.

Flames 2, Kings 1 (overtime)
Defenseman Dennis Wideman scored the winning goal with less than a
minute left in overtime and the Calgary Flames notched their fourth
successive victory when they beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 on the
road.

Blue Jackets 3, Wild 1
Defenseman James Wisniewski scored a power-play goal to break a
third-period tie, and then added an assist on an insurance goal as
the Columbus Blue Jackets swept their season series with the
Minnesota Wild, winning 3-1.
